*sigh*, if I only had the money I would totally buy it. That gen Camaro is one of my favorites; its sexy, its '80s styling, what's not to love?
Sorry you have to sell your ride man. :(

Replacing a car for fuel mileage is kinda silly. I had an '88 model and I got about 15-17 mpg with the auto so I can't see how mileage would be THAT bad. Most used cars that aren't sub compacts only get like 25 mpg anyways. What cars are you considering?

I get 16 mpg from my IS300. I got 13mpg from my Supra (but I was always in boost). So to me that's not bad at all.

I love iroc's. I would totally buy it from you if I weren't poor and roughly 2000 miles away.

My thoughts exactly. I have a Suburban that gets 13 mpg and a '69 big-block Chrysler that gets 10 mpg. It's kinda my middle finger to Toronto emissions regs haha

As someone who has owned a bunch of these cars, and who has also put TPI based small block chevy's into other builds, I can tell you, even if you are driving this "as it is meant to be driven", if you are getting 9 mpg, something is wrong. Unless your driving is 100% New York City rush hour traffic.

I feel like I'm restating the obvious - but...you could drive like a "normal law abiding fuck" or whatever you called everyone else that doesn't dump the clutch and pretend every stoplight is a christmas tree. Certainly that may fix some of the issues you're having with fuel mileage. Since you mention getting an XJ, and knowing how to get good mileage out of one, I assume you mean you'll be getting 20 mpg out of one, while still doing tire roasting burnouts all the time, because fuck driving normally?
Like others have said, swapping vehicles solely for gas mileage isn't really optimal, unless you go to a cheaper vehicle, and see marked improvement by the time you figure in registration, tax, etc.
Now, if its a case of "Jesus shit, this thing is sucking me dry in fuel and maintenance, and everything under the sun," completely different situation. Looks like a clean car though, and as you said, there will always be another.
